DRIVE WITH PRIDE!
In 2003 the Mississippi Nurses Association lobbied the Legislature and HB 940 was passed, establishing a distinctive license plate for nursing! …

The Mississippi Nurses Foundation provides scholarships and stipends to nursing students and registered nurses throughout the state of Mississippi who are pursuing degrees in nursing.

CE Information

From Mississippi Nurses Foundation Accreditation Administrator, Dr. Susan Hart

Dear Providers,

During this time of social distancing and Covid-19 concerns, we are making the following recommendations for conducting CE activities:

1. Those providers who have recently submitted CE applications and/or received approval, the expiration date will be TBA until you are able to schedule a date for the activity. As soon as you know the new date of the CE activity, send me an email and a new approval letter will be issued.

2. Move face-to-face CE activities to online activity or enduring activity.

a. Online activity or internet live is provider-driven by offering the activity through WebEx, Zoom, Skype, or any other video conferencing at a specific time or real-time for learners to participate. Send me an email if you are planning to convert the activity and the mode.

b. Enduring activity is learner-driven or self-directed at the learner’s time and space. A resource for moving a live activity to endure is attached. Send me an email and the completed planning table if you are planning to convert the activity.

MISSISSIPPI NURSES FOUNDATION

NURSING CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in providing quality nursing continuing professional development (NCPD). The Mississippi Nurse Foundation is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. We look forward to guiding you through the process.

NCPD is planned to improve nursing practice and positively impact outcomes for the patient, a population, or the healthcare system. The content must enhance the nurses’ professional development in practice, education, administration, research, or theory development.

INTEGRITY STANDARDS UPDATE

Please note that the ANCC has adopted new integrity standards which will replace the previous content integrity standards and conflict of interest (COI) forms. Full implementation is required by July 1, 2022.

ANCC New Content Integrity Standards Standalone Package

The ANCC Toolkit for Standards for Integrity and Independence in Individual Activity Approval is now used to identify, mitigate, and disclose all relevant financial relationships for all individuals in a position to control content.

EXCEPTION: If the activity content is on a NONCLINICAL topic (e.g., preceptor development, or leadership), identification, mitigation, and disclosure of financial relationships are NOT required.

If the activity content is on a CLINICAL topic, use the following required forms in the ANCC Toolkit:

Template for Collecting Information about All Financial Relationships (page 4)

Nurse Planner’s Worksheet for Mitigation of Identified Relevant Financial Relationships (page 5

If you are interested in providing NCPD, see the PROVIDER link for the application, resources, and payment form. Contact Dr. Susan Hart at dr.susanhart@gmail.com with any questions regarding the application and Kasey Dorr at kdorr@msnurses.org  regarding payment.
