The Mississippi Nurses Foundation provides scholarships, stipends and grants to nursing students and registered nurses throughout the state of Mississippi who are pursuing degrees in nursing.


Mississippi Car Tag Stipend Program

$5,000 in stipends are made available to nursing students and nurses pursuing an advance degree in nursing in the state of Mississippi through the Nurses Car Tag Program.

Leadership Award

Dr. Marcia Rachel was an amazing nurse that impacted many nursing students as a nursing instructor at Mississippi College, the University of Southern Mississippi, William Carey University, Pearl River Community College and the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she ended her outstanding nursing career as the Associate Dean of academic programs at the school of nursing.

Nursing Scholarship 

Mrs. Irma Brinkley Lane and Dr. Sarah Mazique Ware are retired nurses with greater than 35 years’ experience each. They met in the undergraduate nursing program at Alcorn State University and have worked together and kept in touch over the years. Lane and Ware value community service. They have been, and continue to be, involved in the health promotion and maintenance within their local and regional communities.

Memorial Scholarship $1,000 Scholarship

This scholarship established by LaDonna Northington, Monica Northington and Hiawatha Northington II, in memory of their dear parents, is designed to assist Nurse or Nurse Practitioner students who will work with geriatric clients to assure excellence of medical care to these patients in their sunset years.
